Our family has held a lifelong passion for quality Indian food. In 1987, we established The Jewel In The Crown with the aim of creating a restaurant in the UK that can serve the exciting tastes of the many regions of India. Our dishes are cooked in a special clay oven using a centuries-old technique brought up to date. This traditional method allows aroma and flavour to be sealed into the dish, attaining a texture that invigorates your taste buds.

THE WHO'S WHO OF THE CULINARY INDUSTRY

The Tiffin Cup is an annual British culinary competition run by the Tiffin Club to find the best South Asian restaurant in the United Kingdom. The Grand Final cook-off event is held in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom and judged by MPs and guest celebrities. When The Jewel In The Crown won the award, the finalists were judged by Ainsley Harriott, Ching he Huang, Nina Wadia, Hardeep Singh Kohli, Sue Harrison, Dhruv Baker, Lisa Faulkner, Sanjay Anand MBE and Amin Ali.

RECOGNITION AND AWARDS

Our restaurant was crowned Tiffin Cup's Curry Restaurant of the Year in 2011.

We received The British Curry Award.

The Jewel In The Crown won 'Chef’s Special' dish.

Our dishes have received appreciation for being original, seasonal and well executed.
